Sun Young Kim

Sun Kim is the EVP and head of Bio-Healthcare Research Department at Samsung Global Research, responsible for setting strategic direction for life science organizations across Samsung. Sun has been with Samsung since December of 2021, and is based in Seoul, Korea.

Prior to joining Samsung, Sun has worked in various healthcare companies including Novartis, Shire, Alcon, Bausch+Lomb and Centogene. He has worked in various functions across Strategy, General Managment, Global Marketing, Commercial Operations, Investor Relations among others. Prior to his experience in the Pharmaceutical / Medical Device / Molecular Diagnostics space, Sun started out his career in the management consulting space across McKinsey & Co. and A.T. Kearney.

Sun earned his PhD and Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at Stanford University. He received his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at Seoul National University.
