Sequencing by Avidite Improves Cost per Sample with Improved Quality for 16S and Metagenome Sequencing

Here, we demonstrate the compatibility and performance of the Element Biosciences AVITI^TMSystem for two common microbiology sequencing applications: 16S profiling with 2x300 cycle sequencing and PCR-free shotgun metagenomes with 2x150 cycle sequencing. For both applications, ZymoBIOMICS Bacterial Community Reference and the ZymoBIOMICS Fecal reference were sequenced on the AVITI System and compared to publicly available data from other sequencing technologies. For both applications, low AVITI System run costs, high data quality, and additional features unique to avidite base chemistry (ABC) sequencing offer users lower costs per sample while maintaining secondary analysis metrics comparable to legacy short read technologies.
