Element Biosciences is a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for the research and clinical markets. The Company's technology will broaden the end user experience through improved data quality and simplified workflows to benefit discoveries and diagnosis in healthcare. We are seeking a Senior Process Development Technician to play a critical role in technology development, new product development, and sustaining engineering in a fast-paced environment.  In this role, you will be instrumental in testing, process development, and pilot build/integration activities.  A key focus will be front-loading the R&D activities with Process Development in mind.

Responsibilities:

  • Support system level integration and test efforts for complex fluidic, mechanical, and optical systems
  • Provide system design support, such as chassis layout and system cabling, and create BOMs, interface control documents, and assembly procedures
  • Assemble prototype electrical and mechanical systems with limited documentation
  • Provide assembly support on an as-needed basis, maintain general operations supplies, and assist in floor management
  • Conduct equipment IQ/OQ/PQ validations
  • Collaborate with technical staff to collect technical data sets for use in reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working with electrical/mechanical assembly, or equivalent field of study, with 5 years of relevant experience (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, signal generators, optical power meters, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience in Lean principles, Design for Manufacturability, and continuous improvement activities
  • Experience working with desktop publishing and word processing tools, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
