The Role

We are seeking an experienced project coordinator to manage initiatives supporting the development of advanced DNA sequencing instruments.  This individual will take responsibility for planning, execution, reporting and closure of projects that require broad interaction with internal functions and external stakeholders spanning Research, Development and Operations.  Successful candidates will have previous experience in project management within a technology sector.  Excellent organization skills, good business acumen, effective influence skills and a collaborative mindset are essential attributes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute projects spanning the product lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
  • Ensure project goals, tasks, staffing, timelines, budget and risks are communicated and managed.
  • Create project schedules that include deliverables, milestones, dependencies and contingency plans.
  • Coordinate project team activities using effective project management practices.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of progress toward meeting project goals for performance, quality, timeline and cost.
  • Position is based in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in project management (life sciences, biotechnology or medical device industries preferred).
  • Proven track record in coordinating projects or initiatives in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable for deliverables while maintaining strong, constructive interpersonal relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Track record of successfully collaborating with other program teams, external partners and executives.
  • Strong motivational, analytical, delegation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with project management tools and software (eg: MS Project, LucidChart, JIRA).
  • Experience in high-growth start-up companies is a plus.
