Discover Element LoopSeq™ Long-Reads' Power in Transcriptomics

Long-Read Sequencing of Human Transcription Provides Insights into Metastatic Cancer

Element LoopSeq's accurate long-read sequencing technology is delivering genomic and transcriptomic insight that can't be as easily, quickly, and cost-effectively obtained with any other methods. One example of the power of LoopSeq long-reads was discussed by Jianhua Luo, MD PhD, Professor of Pathology and Director of the High Throughput Genome Center at the University of Pittsburgh, in a recent GenomeWeb webinar "Long-Read Sequencing of Human Transcription Provides Insights into Metastatic Cancer."

Dr. Luo used Loop's long-read technology to examine the transcriptome in matched sets of tumor tissue, neighboring normal tissue, and metastatic tissue from lymph nodes. Because Loop's technology enables full-length sequencing of individual transcripts, Dr. Luo was able to:

  • Find transcripts from fused genes that did not exist in the matched normal tissue
  • Use analysis of transcript isoforms to type cancers more effectively than genotyping
  • Discover that some SNPs can be transcript isoform-specific

We are very proud that our technology is enabling insights like those obtained by Dr. Luo and want to let more people know that accurate, full-length sequencing of transcripts exists and is very powerful.
